Amanda White is the owner of “Pedal Punta Gorda.” She’s an avid hiker and has worked in tourism for the past 5 years. Amanda is a Disabled Veteran of the United States Air Force and volunteers.
Amanda’s first year in college at Columbia State Community College, she won a scholarship, for creative writing. There were 1400 entries which means, 1399 people were really slacking the day of submission.
The scholarship consisted of touring, studying, and writing. The trip was in the summer of 2013, lasted three weeks, and was in Cape Town, South Africa. During this trip, she met Tina.
Five years later and numerous brainstorming ideas, another business was formed. Amanda finished her degree in Business Management from Trevecca Nazarene College, located in Nashville, TN.
After graduating from Trevecca in 2015, she was chosen out of 350 applicants for a scholarship at Bridgestone/Motlow to receive a certification in Mechatronics.
Each year, 15 students are awarded the scholarship to receive a Level I Siemens Certification. Amanda was the only female in the program and had the highest accumulative GPA.
She returned to school and finished her Electrical Engineering Degree that she had started when she first joined the military. Amanda launched her career in Nashville, TN. After graduation, she began promoting for a country music singer and took a job with Omni Hotel in the Engineering Department.
Soon afterward, her expanding expertise in influencing, promoting, and branding landed her the title of Platinum Ambassador for Nashville, TN and a Director in tourism.
She recently was asked to write an online essay for findingfearless.org and is currently working on a biography essay that will be part of a book focusing on military, police officers, and more.
She’s currently a member of “Rock the Hike.” Rock the Hike is a hiking community who has launched a YouTube series focusing on the outdoors, a FacebookTV series where she is the host of the show on a “Go Live” channel.
In her free time, she hikes around 30 miles a week, working out, loves sailing, scuba diving, and plans to hike the “Triple Crown.”
